Cha Cha Cha

Jaime Arôxa

Cha Cha Cha is a Latin American dance style derived from Rumba, Mambo and the Cuban Danzon. The name Cha cha cha was inspired by the sounds of the dancers' feet that were shuffled on the floor. In ballroom dancing the dance is generally referred to as cha-cha.

Cha cha cha still exists today in the world of ballroom dance competitions, and it is practically only in this environment that it exists as a dance. Cha-cha music works well for shows and choreographies.

We here at Jaime Arôxa Dance School created a hybrid form, where we mix a little Bolero, Salsa and Cha Cha Cha, using the elegance of ballroom dance. We dance on the third time, in melody of the song, which in our view is the simplest way to be assimilated by all students, with simple and easy steps.
