Forró
Forro is a popular dance in the north east of Brazil. It is danced using several different Brazilian rhythms, including Xote, Baião, Xaxado and Coco.
Other styles of Forró are: Forró pé-de-serra, College Forró and the Electronic Forro (which some people don't consider as Forró).
Forro is a partner dance and we say that its soul is in the hip. The pairs perform several evolutions, and these evolutions differ between the Northeastern Forró and College Forró. It is an extremely democratic dance, and most of the great Forró dancers never needed to have classes.
At our school we have developed different techniques of Forro, and we try to maintain the natural spontaneity of this dance. Forro is a rhythm that attracts a lot of young people.
